Good Day, Creekside Family!

 

Here are this weekend’s reminders and a few things coming up in the near future.

 

THIS WEEK

 

Sunday’s Worship Services:  Pastor Torrey continues to show us who we are “In Him” this Sunday.  The Scriptures will be Ephesians 2:1-10. 

 

Proposed Annual Spending Plan for FY 2016-2017:  Copies are available on the bulletin table in the foyer.  If you are a member and cannot attend the 4th Quarter Business Meeting this Sunday, please complete an absentee ballot and give it to Pastor Troy or Kathy Lindholm.

 

4th Quarter Business Meeting:  Sunday, May 22nd, at 12:00 p.m.  The membership will vote to approve the 2016-2017 Spending Plan, and written ministry updates will be available.  Childcare, water & snacks will be provided.

 

Kids’ Family Kite/Picnic Day:  Bring your kites and picnic lunches for a Kids’ Family Fellowship immediately following the Business Meeting on May 22nd (approximate start time: 1:00 p.m.)   Meet at the picnic tables by the playground.

 

Brookside Outreach:  The Women’s Ministry team is collecting items to make gift baskets for the residents of Brookside Inn.  A list of needed items is attached below.  Please bring your donations to the church by Sunday, May 22nd.

Mexico Mission Trip Rent-a-Student:  We are heading to Mexico this summer!  Our gifted team members would love to raise support by helping mow your lawn, babysit your kids, trim your hedges, wash your car, clean your house, etc.  The team will be outside by the cross on Sunday, May 22nd, so come and rent a student!

 

Alternatives Pregnancy Center:  This Sunday is your last chance to pick up a baby bottle to fill with change to support the ministry of Alternatives Pregnancy Center (http://youhavealternatives.org/).  Please bring the bottles back to the church by Father’s Day, June 19th.  APC now has an office in Castle Rock (303-653-9098).  The office is open on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m. and is located at 409 S. Wilcox, C-3.  In addition, the Mobile Testing Clinic will be at the Douglas Elbert Task Force the first Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m.  APC offers free pregnancy tests, options counseling, material services and ultrasounds.

 

                                                                                                 UPCOMING

 

Men’s Softball Game:  Monday, May 23rd, 6:15 p.m.  Cheer on the team when they play their next game on Metzler Park field #4.

 

Wednesday Nights:  The youth will not meet on May 25th.  Student Ministries’ Summer Kick-off is on Wednesday, June 1st.  The teens will meet at the church at 4:15 p.m. to go pick up incoming 7th graders and then gather at Wrangler Park (2418 Autumn Sage St.) at 5:30 p.m. for food and fun.  The evening will end with a bonfire at the Bintner’s (3607 Desert Ridge Pl.)

 

Praise in the Park:  On Sunday, May 29th, we will have an outdoor worship service at 10:45 a.m. at Festival Park in downtown Castle Rock.  Please invite friends and family to attend.  The church will provide hotdogs, chips, watermelon, and cookies after the service.

 

Denver Ignite Outreach:  On Friday, June 3rd, Creekside will provide a meal to the international youth who attend Denver Ignite.   Sign up online (https://creeksidebible.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=82) if you can help provide and/or serve food to the teens (Burmese, Thai, Nepalese, and African refugees).  The youth meet from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at 1151 Xenia Street in Denver.  Also pray for salvation for the youth and their families.

 

Creekside 101 is five-week class which is offered three times a year.  The topics covered are: Who We Are, What We Believe, Where We Are Going, and Membership.  The next session of Creekside 101 begins Sunday, June 5th, at 10:45 a.m. in Room #600.  Childcare will be provided.  Please sign up on the website (https://creeksidebible.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=78) if you plan to attend.

 

Kids’ Bible-based Summer Sports Camp:  You can register your kids online (https://creeksidebible.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=80) for the Summer Sports Camp (June 6-10 from 9:00 a.m.—12:30 p.m.)  The registration deadline is Sunday, May 29th.  If you have any questions, contact Joni Kitching (joni@creeksidebible.com).

 

Baby & Child Dedications:  Parents will have the opportunity to dedicate their children to the Lord on Father’s Day, June 19th, during both worship services.  If you would like to dedicate your child, please sign up at www.creeksidebible.com by June 14th and one of the pastors will be in touch with you.

 

Men’s Cookout:  Friday, June 24th, 6:00—9:30 p.m.  Men’s Ministry is planning an event for the whole family—food, games and a bonfire at the Genesis Project (east of the church).  We’ll provide the food, but you are welcome to bring a snack or dessert.  Please sign up online if you plan to attend.

 

Church Camp Out at Mueller State Park:  Enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and fellowship with Creekside brothers & sisters.  Sites are available in the group campground for Thursday-Sunday, July 7-10.  Additional campsites nearby have been reserved for Friday-Sunday, July 8-10.  (See the attached info sheet below for details about the campout.)  Reserve a campsite and pay online by Sunday, June 19th (https://creeksidebible.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=61).

 

Worship Director:  We have reopened the search for a Worship Director.  If you or someone you know is interested in applying, check out the job description on the website (http://creeksidebible.com/get-involved/career-opportunities/).

New Our Daily Bread devotionals (June-August) are in the wall racks in the foyer.  Large print editions are also available.

Graduation Open House:  All are invited to celebrate Charissa House’s high school graduation at an open house at the church this Friday, May 20th, from 5:00—8:00 p.m.

 

Congratulations!  Allison and David DeJong praise God for the safe arrival of their little girl.  After 30 hours of labor, Allison had an emergency C-section.  Mom and baby are home now and doing well.  Thanks so much for your prayers.
