Encounter: Because Pastor Torrey needed to bring Jeremiah home from college this weekend, the Encounter was postponed until summer.
Church Workday: Saturday, May 6th, 8:00 a.m. until done. Come help the deacons prepare the grounds for summer! Remember to bring sunscreen, work gloves, shovels, rakes, hammers, etc.
Ladies’ Prayer & Fellowship: Saturday, May 6th, 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Please join us as we bring our prayer requests and praises before the Lord.
Sunday’s Worship Services: On Sunday, May 7th, we will celebrate with those who are being baptized, and we will also have communion since it is the first Sunday of the month.
Benevolence Fund: When someone in the church family or community has a special need, the deacons can provide assistance because of your gifts to our Benevolence Fund. This Sunday, May 7th, the deacons will be in the foyer after the worship service to accept contributions; please prayerfully consider what you can give to support those who have a financial need.
U P C O M I N G:
Special Business Meeting: Over 95% of the members present voted to call Clint Felts to be our Associate Pastor of Worship and Adult Discipleship. We are excited that Clint & Harmony have accepted God’s call to come to Creekside. Pray for their transition, and especially pray that God will provide affordable housing for them in Castle Rock. If you are aware of homes coming up for sale, please inform the church office. We will keep the church family updated as the Felts’ move to Castle Rock draws nearer.
Wednesday Nights: The youth will meet on Wednesday, May 10th, from 6:45 – 8:30 p.m.
MOPS and MOMSnext will have their last meeting before the summer break on Wednesday, May 10th, from 9:30—11:30 a.m.
Senior High Graduation Dinner: Friday, May 12th, 5:00 – 10:30 p.m. We will be celebrating our graduating seniors with a night on the town. The event is free for all graduating seniors and $25 for all Senior High students. Sign up here; we will meet at Creekside at 5:00 p.m. in our best duds.
Men’s Breakfast is on the same date (Saturday, May 13th) but at a different location (Ridgeline Church) and time (7:30 – 9:30 a.m.) so we can join other brothers to hear Mark Johnson, KOA Sports Director and “Voice of the CU Buffalos.” Mark has a passion for sports, rodeo, and, in his words, “talking to men about being accountable, about being men of integrity.” Call Guy West (720-883-2337) if you need a ride. Breakfast will be served; event is free.
Seniors’ Luncheon: Saturday, May 13th, at noon. This will be the last Seniors’ Luncheon before the summer break. Anyone 60+ in Castle Rock and the surrounding communities is welcome to attend.
Child Dedications: Parents will have the opportunity to dedicate their children to the Lord on Sunday, May 14th, during both worship services. If you would like to dedicate your child,
sign up here by May 7th, and one of the pastors will contact you to schedule a meeting.
Graduate Recognition: On Sunday, May 21st, we will be recognizing Creekside’s senior high, college and graduate school grads. If someone in your family is graduating this year, please sign them up here by May 18th.
Bake Sale for Camp Barnabas Mission Trip: On Sunday, May 21st, we will have a bake sale to support the students who will serve at Camp Barnabas this summer. Please sign up here if you would like to provide baked goods for the sale.
Desserts Needed: A team from Creekside serves a meal to low-income and homeless people the third Sunday of every month at Open Door Fellowship in Denver. Dessert donations for Sunday, May 21st, would be much appreciated. Please put the dessert in the church kitchen and label it “Open Door”. If you would like to help serve the meal, contact firstname.lastname@example.org to get more information.
Praise Under the Pavilion: Since Festival Park is under construction, our Memorial Day outdoor worship service will be in downtown Castle Rock at the White Pavilion (414 Perry St.) Please join us on Sunday, May 28th, at 10:00 a.m. for coffee and breakfast burritos. The worship service will start at 10:45 a.m. We encourage you to invite friends and family to this special service!
Creekside’s Bible-Based Sports Camp is June 5-9 from 8:45 a.m. – noon at South Ridge Elementary School. Register your children here or you can sign them up in the foyer on Sunday.
Kids (1st – 6th grade) can register to participate in one of the following: basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, Frisbee, or games. The cost is $20 per child (sign up by May 22nd to save $5.) Many hands are needed to make Sports Camp a successful outreach. Stop by the table in the foyer this Sunday to discover how you can show the love of Jesus to children.
New Family Check-in Team is looking for a couple of people to serve once a month greeting new families who come to Creekside. Our role is to help new families navigate getting their children checked in and connected to their class in the Creek Kids’ Ministry. If you are interested in serving in this ministry, please contact Karyn Hoffman (email@example.com) for more details.
Nursery Workers Needed: Additional help is needed in the nursery on Sunday mornings. If you could help once a month during either the 9:00 or 10:45 a.m. service, please contact Susan Combs (firstname.lastname@example.org, 303-660-3401).
Our Daily Bread Devotionals: The newest edition (March–May) is on the Connections counter in the foyer. Large-print devotionals (April–June) are also available.
Office Closure Policy: The church office is open from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Thursday. If the Douglas County Schools are closed because of inclement weather, the office will be closed as well. If the schools have a delayed start, the church office will open at 10:00 a.m.
