Good Day, Creekside Family!
Here are this weekend’s reminders and a few things coming up in the near future.
Denver Ignite Outreach: On Friday, June 3rd, Creekside will provide a meal to the international youth who attend Denver Ignite. Sign up online (https://creeksidebible.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=82) if you can help provide and/or serve food to the teens (Burmese, Thai, Nepalese, and African refugees). The youth meet from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at 1151 Xenia Street in Denver. Also pray for salvation for the youth and their families.
Ladies’ Prayer & Fellowship: Saturday, June 4th, 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Please join us as we lift our prayer requests and praises to the Lord!
Sunday’s Worship Services: Pastor Troy will continue the “In Him” sermon series this Sunday. The Scripture passage will be Colossians 1:13-14.
Remember to allow extra time to get to church this Sunday! Since Elephant Rock is June 5th, you’ll be sharing the road with lots of cyclists!
Creekside 101 is five-week class which is offered three times a year. The topics covered are: Who We Are, What We Believe, Where We Are Going, and Membership. The next session of Creekside 101 begins Sunday, June 5th, at 10:45 a.m. in Room #600. Childcare will be provided. Mexico Mission Trip Rent-a-Student: Our gifted team members would love to raise support by helping clean your house, mow your lawn, babysit your kids, weed your garden, wash your car, etc. Contact Pastor Larry (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you’d like to rent a student. The students will also be available this Sunday at a table outside by the cross.
Mexico Mission Bake Sale: If you’d be willing to make some pastries, pies, cookies, etc. for a bake sale to support our upcoming mission trip, please sign up this Sunday at the mission trip table. The bake sale will take place on Sunday, June 12th.
4th Quarter Business Meeting: The vote to approve the 2016-2017 Spending Plan was unanimous. Copies of the spending plan and ministry updates are available in the foyer.
New Our Daily Bread devotionals (June-August) are in the wall racks in the foyer. Large-print editions are also available.
Praise in the Park: Thank you to all who helped make last Sunday’s Praise in the Park such a blessing and so much fun!
Kids’ Sports Camp takes place next week – June 6-10 from 9:00 a.m.—12:30 p.m. at Southridge Elementary School. Please pray that God will do a mighty work in the hearts and lives of the students who participate in the Sports Camp.
Men’s Softball Game: The next softball game is on Monday, June 6th, at 9:15 p.m. at Metzler Park field #4.
Memorial Service for Rob Nordberg will be at Creekside on Friday, June 10th, at 3:00 p.m.
Men’s Breakfast: Saturday, June 11th, 8:00—10:00 a.m. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with brothers in Christ.
Making-a-Difference Golf Tournament: Do you love to golf? Christian World Outreach is hosting a golf tournament on Monday, June 13th, at the Inverness Golf Club in Englewood. All funds raised will go to Christian World Outreach; Greg & Laura Yoder (Creekside-supported missionaries) serve with CWO. LIFFT Bunco Fellowship: Ladies, join us on Friday, June 17th, at 6:00 p.m. to play Bunco! We will meet at Sandra Schroeder’s home (11 W. Wolfensberger Rd., 80109). Please bring snacks to share. Hot and cold tea, coffee, cocoa, and water will be provided. No need to sign up…just show up ready for fun!
Open Door Ministries: A small team from Creekside serves dessert to low-income and homeless people the third Sunday of every month with Open Door Fellowship in Denver. Dessert donations are much appreciated and may be put in the church kitchen on the third Sunday of each month, labeled appropriately. If you are also interested in volunteering your time to help serve the meal or spend time with those dining, please contact us at email@example.com to get more information.
Baby & Child Dedications: Parents have an opportunity to dedicate their children to the Lord on Father’s Day, June 19th, during both worship services. If you would like to dedicate your child, please sign up at https://creeksidebible.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=72 by Tuesday, June 14th, and one of the pastors will be in touch with you.
Alternatives Pregnancy Center: Thank you to all who are participating in the fundraiser for APC. Keep filling your baby bottle with change and bring it back to the church by Father’s Day, June 19th. Alternatives Pregnancy Center offers free pregnancy tests, options counseling, material services and ultrasounds.
Men’s Cookout: Friday, June 24th, 6:00—9:30 p.m. Men’s Ministry is planning an event for the whole family—food, games and a bonfire at the Genesis Project east of the church. We’ll provide the food, but you are welcome to bring a snack or dessert. If you plan to attend, please sign up online by Thursday, June 23rd, (https://creeksidebible.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=84).
Independence Day Picnic: Mark your calendar and plan to enjoy hamburgers and hot dogs as we celebrate our country’s independence on Sunday, July 3rd. The fun will start right after the 2nd service. Each family is asked to bring a side dish or dessert, and we’ll provide the rest!
Church Camp Out at Mueller State Park: Enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and fellowship with Creekside brothers & sisters. Sites are available in the group campground for Thursday-Sunday, July 7-10. Additional campsites nearby have been reserved for Friday-Sunday, July 8-10. (See the attached info sheet below for more details about the campout.) Please reserve a campsite and pay online by Sunday, June 19th, (https://creeksidebible.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=61).
Leadership Training on Prayer: Ministry leaders – please plan to attend a special training session on prayer on either Saturday, July 24th or Saturday, August 27th.
Save the date: Enjoy tailgating and Air Force Academy football on Saturday, October 22nd (time TBD). This is an event for the whole family. Please sign up on the website to help us know how many tickets to purchase. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided; each family is asked to bring a side dish.
