Here are this weekend’s reminders and a few things coming up in the near future.
 
                                             THIS WEEK
  

Chic-Fil-A Mexico Mission Trip Fundraiser:  Tonight you can support the Mexico Mission team by eating at Chic-Fil-A between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.  If you tell your host that you are there to support the Creekside Mexico Mission Trip, Chic-Fil-A will donate a portion of the proceeds towards the mission trip. 

Prayer Walk:  The Women’s Ministry is planning a family prayer walk in downtown Castle Rock on Saturday, July 2nd.  Meet at the courthouse (3rd & Wilcox) at 9:30 a.m.  The prayer walk will end at 11:00 a.m.

Sunday’s Worship Services:  Pastor Torrey continues to show us who we are “In Him” this Sunday.  The Scripture passage will be I Corinthians 1:1-9. 

 

Youth Sunday Bible Class:  Due to the Mexico Mission Trip and vacation schedules, there will be no youth Bible Class on Sunday mornings during the month of July.  Teens are encouraged to join their families for the 9:00 a.m. worship service.

 

Independence Day Picnic:  Plan to join us as we celebrate our country’s independence this Sunday, July 3rd.  The fun will start right after the 2nd service.  Each family is asked to bring a side dish AND a dessert; the church will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, buns, drinks and paper goods. 

 
                                                 UPCOMING

Office Schedule:  The church office will be closed on Monday, July 4th, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

 

Wednesday Nights:  The youth will not meet on Wednesday, July 6th.  On July 13th, the youth will have a bonfire at the Schroeder’s.  More info coming soon!

Campout Saturday Potluck:  You are invited to join the campers at Mueller State Park for their noon potluck on Saturday, July 9th!  Please bring meat to grill as well as a side dish or dessert, water bottles, and camp chairs.  Plan to come early to get in a hike before lunch and stay for the fellowship that afternoon.  Please sign up here if you are planning to come.

 

Men’s Breakfast:  Since a number of men will be participating in the campout or mission trip, there will be no Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, July 9th.

 

Men’s Softball Game:  The next softball game is on Monday, July 11th, at 9:15 p.m. at Metzler Park field #4.

Women’s Ministry Service Project:  Come to Jane Konrad’s home for “Tea & Tie” on Thursday, July 14th, from 1:00—4:00 p.m.  We’ll be making fleece blankets for Children’s Hospital so bring good sewing scissors if you have them.  No need to sign up; call Jane at 303-972-3805 if you have questions.  The Konrad’s address is 570 Rusty Dawn Circle, Castle Rock, 80104.

 

Open Door Ministries:  A small team from Creekside serves a meal to low-income and homeless people the third Sunday of every month with Open Door Fellowship in Denver.  Dessert donations are much appreciated and may be put in the church kitchen on the third Sunday of each month, labeled appropriately.  If you would like to help serve the meal or spend time with those dining, please contact us at missions@creeksidebible.com to get more information.

 

Leadership and Volunteer Prayer Training:  In preparation for the fall series on prayer, we are asking all Creekside ministry leaders and volunteers to be part of one of the prayer training sessions.  One session is on Saturday, July 23rd, and the other will be Saturday, August 27th.  Both sessions will start at 8:00 a.m. and finish by 12:30 p.m.  Breakfast, lunch, and childcare will be provided.  We will discuss what prayer is, what it means to pray, and when and how we pray.  Please sign up here to let us know which session you will attend.

 

 

Rockies’ Faith Day:  Watch the Rockies play the Miami Marlins on Sunday, August 7th, and enjoy Crowder in concert after the game!  Tickets are $18; our seats are in section U336.  Please sign up here to reserve your tickets and pay online or drop a check in the offering box by Sunday, July 17th.

Air Force Academy Football Game:  Bring the family and enjoy tailgating and AFA football on Saturday, October 22nd (time TBD).  Please sign up on the website to help us know how many tickets to purchase.  Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided; each family is asked to bring a side dish for tailgating.  Contact Beau Jordan (beau.jordan@gmail.com) with questions.

 

Nursery Need:  3-5 helpers are needed one Sunday a month during the 1st service (9:00 a.m.), and 2 helpers are needed one Sunday a month during the 2nd service (10:45 a.m.) Please contact Susan Combs (303-660-3401, sjmcombs@yahoo.com,) if you can help.
