Good Day, Creekside Family!
Leadership and Volunteer Prayer Training: In preparation for the fall series on prayer, we are asking all Creekside ministry leaders and volunteers to be part of one of the prayer training sessions. There is a session this Saturday, July 23rd, and another one on Saturday, August 27th. Both sessions will start at 8:00 a.m. and finish by 12:30 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, and childcare will be provided. We will discuss what prayer is, what it means to pray, and when and how we pray. Please sign up here to let us know which session you will attend.
Sunday’s Worship Services: Pastor Torrey continues the “In Him” series this Sunday. The Scripture passage will be Romans 8:28-39.
Rockies’ Faith Day: The Rockies play the Miami Marlins at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, August 7th, and you can enjoy the game, concert, and player testimonies for only $18 a ticket! Our seats are in the shade along the 3rd base line, and you won’t have to change seats for Crowder’s concert after the game. The deadline to reserve and pay for Faith Day tickets is this Sunday, July 24th. Sign up here to reserve your tickets; you can also pay online or put a check or cash in the offering box on the 24th (be sure to write ‘Faith Day’ in the memo line or on the offering envelope.)
Men’s Softball Game: The team’s next game is on Monday, July 25th, at 8:15 p.m. at Metzler Park field #4.
Denver Ignite Outreach: Creekside serves a meal on the first Friday of each month to teens who are refugees from Burma, Thailand, and Nepal. If you can help by providing part of the meal or helping serve the meal on Friday, August 5th, contact Deb Cappella at firstname.lastname@example.org or 720-514-0457.
Men’s Retreat: The Men’s Ministry will have their annual retreat September 9-11 at the Quaker Ridge Camp and Conference Center in Woodland Park, CO. Join us for great food, fellowship, fun, and motivation! There will be plenty of activities and time to rest and unwind. If you sign up by July 31st, the price is only $89 for five meals and two nights lodging, plus you will be entered into a raffle for a free attendance pass! (The cost of the retreat after July 31st will be $99.)
Bonfils Bloodmobile will be at Creekside on Sunday, August 21st, from 8:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. You can make a difference—one whole blood donation can help up to three patients! To schedule your life-saving donation, visit donors.bonfils.org/ and refer to site A847, or call the Bonfils Appointment Center at 303-363-2300.
NIV Pew Bibles: Since we are now providing Holman Christian Standard Bibles (HCSB) in the sanctuary for the worship services, the church has a number of hardback 1984 NIV Bibles to give away. If you would like to have one, please help yourself. The Bibles are on the lower shelf of the table in the foyer.
< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>The Elders would like to thank Melissa Robertson for her faithful service as the Bookkeeper at Creekside over the past year. Her attention to detail and her diligence in implementing many new processes cannot be overstated. Melissa has been a blessing to us all! Please pray for Melissa as she focuses her time as a wife and mother and continues to help Brian as they renovate their new home and property in Larkspur. We are very thankful that Melissa remains a part of our church family and look forward to her participation in the Lord’s work here at CBC as her busy schedule permits. Thank you again Melissa!
< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Welcome Jay Stimson as the new Bookkeeper at Creekside! Many of you know Jay as an amazing Bible teacher, but we are now also blessed to have him share his skills in serving the Lord as Bookkeeper. We are excited for this new chapter and know that Jay will thrive in this role. You can reach Jay at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Please remember to pray for the upcoming prayer initiative that Creekside is launching this Fall. We are especially excited about the training classes on prayer that will take place on July 23rd and August 27th. These training sessions are phase one of many exciting elements of this upcoming effort. If you have not RSVP’d for one of the two sessions yet, please click here. We are looking forward to sharing breakfast and lunch with our volunteer leaders as we narrow down and give focus to the broad definition of prayer. We will also determine what it means for us as a church in terms of practical application.
