Good Day, Creekside Family!
Here are this weekend’s reminders and a few things coming up in the near future.

Family Movie Night:  Friday, August 19th, 7:30 p.m.  Bring the family to watch “Meet the Robinsons” (rated G) on our big outdoor screen (weather permitting).   We will play games outside before the movie starts at dark.  Popcorn and drinks will be served.   If there is inclement weather, we will show the movie in the sanctuary at 7:30 p.m.


Sunday’s Worship Services:  Pastor Larry will be looking at the life of Daniel this Sunday, August 21st. 


Bonfils Bloodmobile will be at Creekside on Sunday, August 21st, from 8:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m.  Did you know that Bonfils must collect nearly 3,000 donations of blood each week to meet the needs of Colorado residents?  If you make an appointment to donate blood, you will make a difference!  Visit donors.bonfils.org/ and refer to site A847, or call the Bonfils Appointment Center at 303-363-2300.



Wednesday Nights:  The youth will meet on August 24th at 6:45 p.m.


Leadership and Volunteer Prayer Training:  The Elders have asked all Creekside ministry leaders and volunteers to participate in a prayer training session.  If you were not at the July session, please sign up to attend the one on Saturday, August 27th.  We will start at 8:00 a.m. and finish by 12:30 p.m.  Breakfast, lunch, and childcare will be provided.  Join us as we discuss what prayer is, what it means to pray, and when and how we pray.  Please RSVP here.


Welcome Dessert:  New to Creekside?  If you would like to learn more about Creekside while treating yourself to some amazing sweets, we encourage you to come to the Welcome Dessert at the Belk’s home on Sunday, August 28th, at 6:30 p.m.  Childcare will be provided.  Please sign up here.


Castle Rock Day of Prayer:  Saturday, September 3rd, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Gather with other believers at Festival Park to pray for our churches, community, and nation.


Ladies’ Prayer & Fellowship will not meet on Saturday, September 3rd, so that the women can participate in the Castle Rock Day of Prayer. 


Praise in the Park:  Come to Festival Park (2nd & Perry St.) for an outdoor worship service and BBQ on Sunday, September 4th.  We encourage you to invite friends, family and neighbors to join you at the park for the service, food, and fellowship!


Church Office Schedule:  The office will be closed on Monday, September 5th, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.


Men’s Retreat:  The Men’s Ministry will have their annual retreat September 9-11 at the Quaker Ridge Camp and Conference Center in Woodland Park, CO.  Join us for great food, fellowship, fun, and motivation! There will be plenty of activities and time to rest and unwind.  The cost of the retreat is only $99 for five meals and two nights lodging.  You can sign up here.


Men’s Breakfast:  There will be no breakfast on Saturday, September 10th, since the Men’s Retreat is that weekend.


Seniors’ Luncheon:  Saturday, September 10th, from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. If you are 60+, come to Creekside the 2nd Saturday of the month (September-May) for lunch, a devotional and fellowship.


Women’s Fall Bible Studies begin on Tuesday morning, September 13th, and Thursday evening, September 15th.  The Tuesday study begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be an eight-week study of the book of Jonah.  Childcare will be provided.  The Thursday study begins at 7:00 p.m.; the book of the Bible studied is TBD.  Both groups will be using Kay Arthur’s book, Discover the Bible for Yourself.  Please sign up here if you plan to attend either group.


MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers): Front Range Christian Church and Creekside are working together to provide a MOPS ministry.  On Wednesday, August 31st, you can register and meet your table leader from 9:30–11:30 a.m.  at Creekside.  The first meeting will be at Creekside on Wednesday, September 14th, from 9:30—11:30 a.m. You can also register at www.mops.org (search for 80104). 


Small Groups:  Join us this fall as our Small Groups unpack what it means to pray.  Pastor Torrey will lead us through the Model Prayer from Luke 11 on Sunday mornings while our Small Groups look at prayer from the rest of Scripture and put it all into practice!  If you are not part of a Small Group, please sign up here, and we will help you get connected!


Save the date:  You won’t want to miss the Prayer Encounter on Friday,  September 30th, at 7:00 p.m.!

Nursery Need:  3-5 helpers are needed one Sunday a month during the 1st service (9:00 a.m.), and 2 helpers are needed one Sunday a month during the 2nd service (10:45 a.m.) Please contact Susan Combs (303-660-3401, sjmcombs@yahoo.com,) if you can help.
Lost & Found:  The bin under the coat rack is full so we will donate everything to charity on Monday, August 29th.  If you have been missing anything, please check the bin before then.
