Good Day, Creekside Family!
Here are this weekend’s reminders and a few things coming up in the near future.
Ladies’ Prayer and Fellowship: Saturday, August 6th, 9:30—11:00 a.m. Please join us as we lift our praises and prayer requests before the Lord. We will meet in the Conference Room in the south modular.
Sunday’s Worship Services: Pastor Torrey will finish the “In Him” series this Sunday. The Scripture passages will be from I Corinthians and Ephesians 4.
Men’s Softball Game: The team ends the season with a doubleheader on Monday, August 8th, at 7:15 & 8:15 p.m. at Metzler Park field #4.
Wednesday Nights: The youth will not meet on August 10th. Youth group will resume meeting on August 17th.
Men’s Breakfast: Saturday, August 13th, 8:00—10:00 a.m. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with brothers in Christ.
Family Movie Night: Friday, August 19th, 7:30 p.m. Bring the family to watch “Meet the Robinsons” (rated G) on our big outdoor screen (weather permitting). We will play games outside before the movie starts at dark. Popcorn and drinks will be served.
Bonfils Bloodmobile will be at Creekside on Sunday, August 21st, from 8:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. Did you know that Bonfils provides blood and blood products to 200 hospitals and healthcare facilities across Colorado? Leadership and Volunteer Prayer Training: In preparation for the fall series on prayer, we are asking all Creekside ministry leaders and volunteers to participate in a prayer training session. If you were not at the prayer training in July, please sign up to attend the session on Saturday, August 27th. We will start at 8:00 a.m. and finish by 12:30 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, and childcare will be provided. We will discuss what prayer is, what it means to pray, and when and how we pray. Castle Rock Day of Prayer: Saturday, September 3rd, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Gather with other believers at Festival Park to pray for our churches, community, and nation.
Praise in the Park: Mark your calendar and come to Festival Park (2nd & Perry St.) for an outdoor worship service and BBQ on Sunday, September 4th. Please invite family and friends as well!
Men’s Retreat: The Men’s Ministry will have their annual retreat September 9-11 at the Quaker Ridge Camp and Conference Center in Woodland Park, CO. Join us for great food, fellowship, fun, and motivation! There will be plenty of activities and time to rest and unwind. The cost of the retreat is only $99 for five meals and two nights lodging. You can sign up here.
Nursery Need: 3-5 helpers are needed one Sunday a month during the 1st service (9:00 a.m.), and 2 helpers are needed one Sunday a month during the 2nd service (10:45 a.m.) Please contact Susan Combs (303-660-3401, firstname.lastname@example.org,) if you can help.
Lost & Found: The bin under the coat rack is full so we will donate everything to charities on Monday, August 29th. If you have been missing anything, please check the bin before the end of August.
Worship Director: If you or someone you know is interested in applying for the worship director position, the job description is located here on the website.
· The Elders would like to thank everyone who participated in the July 23rd Prayer Training Class we had here at the church. It was a wonderful time of interaction and discussion as well as a great time of fellowship. We have received positive feedback and truly believe a solid foundation was laid for making prayer a priority at Creekside. If you have yet to sign up, please do so today, there is one more class on August 27th. We look forward to seeing you there!
· Praise God for His faithful provision over the 2015-2016 fiscal year! Spending was right on budget and our giving, through your faithful tithes and offerings, was ahead of expenses by 9%.
