Encounter: Sent Friday, October 27th, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Encounter is a time to gather to worship our creator and pray together as a family. This Encounter will focus on praying for the missionaries that Creekside supports, and we will also pray for our outreach to the town of Castle Rock. Childcare will be provided for nursery through age 12.
Sunday Services: Pastor Torrey will preach on Philippians 3:1-11 on Sunday, October 29th.
Community Groups: Sign up here if you would like to participate in a Community Group. The Connect (click here) is the lesson the groups will study the week of October 29 – November 4. Next week’s Connect is also attached below.
Daylight Savings Time ends next Sunday, November 5th. Remember to turn your clocks back one hour when you go to bed on Saturday night!
2nd Quarter Business Meeting: Sunday, November 5th, 12:00 p.m. Finance and ministry reports will be given, and all are welcome to attend.
Thanksgiving Dinner & Outreach: Sunday, November 12th, 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Kirk Hall on the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The church will provide turkey and ham, cranberry sauce, rolls, drinks, and tableware. Families are asked to bring a side dish and a dessert. You can sign up at creeksidebible.com or at the table in the foyer. As we celebrate God’s goodness, we also want to reach out to those in need. Everyone is encouraged to bring homemade cookies or gift cards for the Christmas bags we will give to the homeless served by Open Door Ministries. The details are on the sign-up form.
Operation Christmas Child: The shoebox you fill with toys, school supplies, and personal care items may be a child’s first Christmas gift. And through that gift, each child will also hear the gospel, the greatest gift of all! When you take a shoebox, be sure to get a “How to Pack Your Shoebox” envelope for instructions (e.g., you can no longer send toothpaste, candy, and gum.) Because our storage space is limited, please bring your filled shoebox to Creekside on Sunday, November 19th, OR you can take it to the nearest drop-off location, Ridgeline Community Church, from November 13-20 (drop-off hours & directions are available at https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/drop-off-locations.)
Missionary Christmas Love Offering: During the month of November, we collect a love offering for our missionaries so we can send them a special gift at Christmas time. If you would like to bless our missionaries this holiday season, please put your check or cash in the offering box by Sunday, November 26th, and write “missionary love offering” in the memo line or on the offering envelope.
Blessing the Worship Team with Breakfast: Our worship team volunteers faithfully give 8-10 hours of their time each week to prepare to lead our congregation in worship. We hope to form a team of people who are willing to supply breakfast for the worship team each week. A rotation would be established once enough volunteers have committed to this ministry. Food for 15 people would need to be brought to Room #220 by 8:30 a.m. each Sunday. If you would like to help with this, contact Clint (firstname.lastname@example.org) for details.
Nursery Helpers Needed: Three additional helpers are needed during each service on a once a month rotation. If you can help, contact Susan Combs (email@example.com, 303-660-3401.)
New Our Daily Bread Devotionals: The December–February edition is available on the Connections counter.
Church Office: Office hours are Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Please call 303-688-3745 if you have any questions or would like to speak to a staff member.
