Creekside Current 12.11.15

Good Day Creekside Family:

Here are this weekend’s reminders and a few things coming up in the near future.

Men’s Breakfast: Saturday, December 12th, 8:00-10:00 a.m. Enjoy breakfast burritos, a Bible study in the book of Nehemiah, a time of prayer, and good fellowship with brothers in Christ.

Seniors’ Luncheon: Saturday, December 12th, at noon. If you are 60+, we invite you to enjoy the meal, devotional, & fellowship. All seniors in Castle Rock and the surrounding communities are welcome.

Sunday Morning: Join us this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. as we continue our ‘Here Comes the King’ Sermon Series. We will be exploring Luke 1 & 2 and Matthew 1& 2 this Sunday. This Sunday is the 3rd Sunday of Advent. The Scripture readings are Isaiah 61:1-3 and Luke 2:8-16 & 20.

Child Dedications: Creekside will be celebrating Child Dedications on Sunday, December 13th, during our 2nd worship service.

Sunday Parking: We are asking all able-bodied persons to please park in the back, gravel parking lot to free up spaces for others in the paved parking lot.

Missions’ Luncheon: Please join us for another meal after the second service this Sunday, December 13th, in the north modular, Room 600. We will continue discussing missions & outreach and how we can have a greater impact those the Lord has put around us, both locally and globally. This is a great way to deepen relationships and consider practical ways to orient our priorities away from ourselves and towards Jesus and what mattered most to Him. Main goals for our time: Meet new people who could not attend the first lunch. Begin forming a committed team to increase our effectiveness. Review and learn about Creekside’s current supported missionaries/organizations, what they do, where they serve, and how we can improve caring for them.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers): MOPS next meeting is Wednesday, December 16th, from 9:30—11:30 a.m. for a Christmas Party. You can register for MOPS at (search for 80104).

Christmas at the Crema: We’re having a Student Ministry Christmas Party at Cookies & Crema Wednesday, December 16th, at 6:30 p.m. Come sing, laugh, and celebrate Jesus’ birthday. Bring your ugly sweaters and holiday cheer. The event is free, so invite your friends!

Christmas Eve Nursery Helpers Needed: If you could help in the nursery during one of the Christmas Eve services (3:00 & 5:00 p.m.), please contact Joni Kitching at

Open Door Christmas Outreach: Sunday, December 20th, we will be passing out 80 gift bags to the homeless in downtown Denver. Each bag will have a $10-15 gift card for a fast food restaurant (Subway, McDonalds, Burger King, etc.), homemade cookies, candy, a Christmas card, and two religious tracts. If you would like to donate a gift card, please give it to Kathy Lindholm. Donations of cookies & candy are also welcome. All donations must be at the church no later than Thursday, December 17th.
