Sunday Services:  Pastor Torrey’s passage for Sunday, October 14th, will be Daniel 2:1-28.  We will also celebrate communion this Sunday.

Benevolence Offering:  The Elders have decided that this Sunday’s donations to the Benevolence Fund will be used to aid relief efforts to assist those affected by the recent hurricane in the Carolinas.

Community Groups:  Sign up to be part of a Community Group here.  Each week one of the pastors writes a study, called the Guide, to facilitate a discussion about that Sunday’s message. The 10/14/18 Guide is attached below, or you can pick up a copy at Connections this Sunday.

Advent Ensemble:  If you are interested in participating in the Advent ensemble, please sign up here.  Today is the last day you can sign up for the ensemble.

Encounter:  Friday, October 12th, 6:30–7:30 p.m.  We will gather for a night of worship and prayer as we prepare our hearts to serve our community as a church the following day.  Childcare will be provided for children up to the 4th grade.

Creekside Cares:  THIS SATURDAY! October 13th, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.  Your family is encouraged to be involved in our 2nd Annual Creekside Cares Day when we will go into the community to serve others in real and practical ways.  Childcare will be provided through Kindergarten.  We are meeting at South Ridge Elementary at 8:00 a.m.  Sign up here if you would like to participate.  Needed items:  If you are coming, it would be helpful to bring the following items. Most will need gloves!  Garden Rakes, round head shovels, blowers, weed eaters, and mowers would also be beneficial.  This will save the church from having to purchase or rent these items for you to use.  If you haven’t signed up yet, there is a place to mark which items you can bring.  If you marked this on your signup, please plan to bring the items with you.   Childcare:  Childcare will be available for children in Kindergarten and younger.  This will be taking place at the Douglas County Library.  Please plan to drop your kids off promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, and then head over to South Ridge for a time of prayer.  We will have the “best of the best” there to care for our kiddos.  Please bring a snack and a water bottle for each child you bring. You will then return to the library at 12:00 p.m. to pick up your kids and bring them back to the school for lunch and a final farewell.

Memorial Service for Marcia Fashbaugh:  Saturday, October 20th, 10:30 a.m.  Family and friends will gather to celebrate Marcia’s life, and a light lunch will follow the service.  To read the obituary and learn the family’s wishes for memorial donations, click here.

2nd Quarter Business Meeting:  Sunday, November 4th, 12:00 p.m.  Oral ministry reports will be given.  The Elders have unanimously endorsed Greg Yoder as an Elder Candidate, and they would like to receive feedback from the church family on Greg’s candidacy.  You can email the Elders at or speak to them individually to share your feedback.

Annual Thanksgiving Dinner:  Sunday, November 11th, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.  Join us as we thank God for His blessings and honor our veterans.  We will meet at Kirk Hall on the Douglas County Fairgrounds.  The church will provide turkey, ham, drinks, and tableware.  Each family is asked to bring a side dish or dessert.  Please sign up here to let us know how many are coming and what you will bring. You can also sign up at the Community Group table in the foyer.
