This Sunday: Pastor Larry will continue the series on the book of Ephesians, Transformed, this Sunday, October 13th. The passage is Ephesians 2:6–10 and the title of the sermon is “Grace”.
Offering: The benevolence offering will be taken this Sunday.
Baptismal Services: On Sunday, November 3rd, we will have baptismal services at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. If you would like to be baptized, sign up here by Monday, October 28th, so you can meet with one of the pastors.
Community Groups: You can sign up here to join a community group. If your group is using the Guide, you can print out the attachment below or pick up a copy at Connections this Sunday.
Creekside Cares: Our annual outreach event will be on Saturday, October 19th, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. We will be doing exterior maintenance projects at South Ridge Elementary School, primarily lawn care and touch-up painting. If you can help, please sign up here.
2nd Quarter Business Meeting: Sunday, October 27th, 12:15–1:00 p.m. The pastors will give oral ministry reports, and everyone is invited to attend.
Annual Thanksgiving Dinner: Sunday, November 10th, 4:00–6:00 p.m. Please join us as we celebrate God’s goodness at Kirk Hall on the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The church will provide turkey, ham, cranberry sauce, drinks, and paper goods. Each family is asked to bring a side dish AND a dessert (bring enough to feed your family and eight others). Singles and couples are asked to bring a side dish OR a dessert. Please sign up here to let us know how many are coming and what you will bring. Sign-up sheets are also available on the table in the foyer. The last date to sign up is Friday, November 8th.
Ephesians Journals: We only have a few left, so get yours in the foyer today before they are gone! If you would like additional copies, we suggest a donation of $3 per book
Musicians Needed: We are very thankful for the musicians God has blessed us with at Creekside! We also want to invite other instrumentalists to join us on the worship team. If you play a unique instrument (horns, brass, woodwind, strings), please let us know. We would especially love to include these instruments during our Advent season. Thanks in advance for considering letting the Lord use you in this special way!
Sunday Morning Greeters: A friendly “Hello” starts each Sunday out right at Creekside. If you like shaking hands, can hold a door open for people, and are willing to show up 20 minutes before the start of the service, we are looking for you to be a greeter on Sunday mornings. Singles, couples and families are welcome to join the greeting ministry. If you are interested, please contact Kevin.
New Our Daily Bread Devotionals: The September–November edition is available at Connections. The large print devotional for October–December is also available.
Young Adult Group: If you are 18–29, join us on Sundays from 6:30–8:30 p.m.! On October 13th the group is planning an outing. Please text Mindy if you are coming or have questions. We are looking for someone with a heart for this age group who could lead the group long-term.
Mornings for Moms, a new ministry for mothers with kids at home, meets at Creekside twice a month on Thursday mornings from 9:30–11:00 a.m., and childcare is provided. The next meeting will be tomorrow, October 10th. Mornings for Moms is free, but a $20 donation for the year is suggested to help cover costs for childcare, activities, and occasional brunch items. Seniors’ Luncheon: Saturday, October 12th, at noon. If you are 60+, come to Creekside the 2nd Saturday of the month for lunch, fellowship and a devotional. All seniors in Castle Rock and surrounding communities are welcome.
Men’s Study: Beginning on Tuesday, October 22nd, a new Men’s Study will meet for six weeks from 6:00–7:00 a.m. at the B&B in Castle Rock. The pastors will continue the study begun during the Men’s Retreat, using A Man and His Story from the 33 Series. The books are $15 each. Anyone 16 and older is invited to attend, and you can sign up here. Please contact Pastor Larry (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Pastor Clint (email@example.com) if you have any questions. Because of the Men’s Study, the monthly Men’s Breakfast will not meet for the rest of the year.
MISSIONS AND OUTREACH
Desserts Needed: A team from Creekside serves a meal to low-income and homeless people on the third Sunday of every month at Open Door Fellowship in Denver. Dessert donations for Sunday, October 20th, would be appreciated. Please put the dessert in the kitchen and label it “Open Door”.
Overtime: Overtime is an after-school ministry at South Ridge Elementary on Thursdays from 4:00–5:30 p.m., and more volunteers are always welcome. If God is laying this on your heart, sign up here to help.
