Sunday Services: Pastor Torrey will continue the Christmas series, “Scrooged”, this Sunday, December 9th. The title of his message is “Chaos vs. Calm”, and the Scripture passages are from Luke 1 and Matthew 1.
Advent Candle Lighting: Sunday, December 9th, will be the 2nd Sunday of Advent, and the Scripture passage is Luke 2:1-7.
Community Groups: Sign up to be part of a Community Group here. Each week one of the pastors writes a study, called the Guide, that facilitates a discussion about that Sunday’s message. The 12/9/18 Guide is attached below, or you can pick up a copy at Connections this Sunday. This will be the last Guide until Community Groups resume meeting the week of January 13th.
Office Closure: The office will be closed on Wednesday, December 12th, from 10:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. while the staff takes Joni Kitching out to lunch to thank her for serving as our Kids’ Ministry Director for 3+ years.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Services: On Monday, December 24th, our Candlelight Services will be at 1:00, 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. The services will be family-friendly, and no childcare will be provided. The Nursery Rooms and the New Mom’s Room will be available for parents to use, and Children’s Bulletins will be provided for ages 3-12. On Sunday, December 23rd, nursery will be provided through preschool age. Kids’ Bible classes will not meet because of the holiday, but Children’s Bulletins will be available in the foyer.
End-of-Year-Giving Announcement: To be tax deductible in 2018, gifts to the church must be received at the office by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28th. You can also put a check in the offering box on Sunday, December 30th, by 12:00 p.m., or you can give online at creeksidebible.com until midnight on December 31st. If you mail a check, the envelope must be postmarked no later than December 31st.
Lost & Found: If you are missing anything, please check the Lost & Found bin in Room #510. All unclaimed articles will be donated to a local charity on Friday, December 21st. You will find “lost” Bibles on a shelf above the bin.
Nursery Volunteers Needed: Are you looking for a place to serve? Please consider becoming a regular teacher in the Preschool room of the nursery. We need two helpers serving twice a month beginning in January. If you can help, contact Karyn Hoffman at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
New Our Daily Bread Devotionals: The December–February edition is available at Connections, and the large-print editions (January – March) are also available.
