This Sunday:  Pastor Torrey will be will begin the new series, “Game Plan”, on Sunday, August 12th.  Read 1 Chronicles 16:23-31 in preparation for his message. 

Welcome Dessert:  Sunday, August 26th, 6:30–8:30 p.m. Fellowship with others new to Creekside, meet our pastors, learn more about the church, and enjoy delicious desserts.  The Welcome Dessert is held at one of our Elders’ homes, and childcare is provided.  Please RSVP here by August 23rd.

Castle Rock Day of Prayer:  On Saturday, September 1st, at 9:00 a.m., there will be a community-wide prayer gathering at Festival Park.  Everyone is welcome. 

Praise Under the Pavilion:  On Sunday, September 2nd, we will have only one worship service at 10:45 a.m., and we will meet at the White Pavilion (414 Perry St.) in downtown Castle Rock.  Come at 10:00 a.m. for breakfast burritos, coffee and juice, and bring your lawn chairs.  Please invite friends and family to our Labor Day weekend outdoor service!

Game Plan Tailgate and Chili Cook-off:  On Sunday, September 9th, from 12:00–2:00 p.m., we are going to kick off the beginning of the football season!  Sign up here if you want to participate in the Chili Cook-off, and if you are not bringing chili, please sign up to bring a side dish.  The church will provide hotdogs, buns, drinks, and tableware, and there will be games and other activities for your family to enjoy!

Community Groups have been taking a break for the summer, and they will resume meeting the week of September 9th.  You can sign up to be part of a Community Group here or in the foyer this Sunday.

Creekside Plus Podcast: The pastors have developed a new podcast channel to provide additional training and growth for our Creekside family.  Currently there are three episodes dealing with questions on discipleship and more will be added soon.  You can access the podcast at: https://creeksideplus.podbean.com .

Part-time Volunteers Needed:  Are you looking for a place to serve and show the love of Jesus, but your time is limited?  We are looking for people who will serve in the nursery on the 5th Sundays and during special holiday services.  Your willingness to serve in these gap spaces will bless not only sweet babies, toddlers or preschoolers, but also our regular volunteers!  Contact info@creeksidebible.com or 303-688-3745 for more details or if you can help.

Creekside Travel Mugs:  If you would like to purchase a Creekside travel mug ($15), stop by Connections on Sunday morning.  You can pay cash, write a check (put ‘travel mug’ in the memo line) or pay online.

Men’s Breakfast: Saturday, August 11th, 8:00—10:00 a.m. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with brothers in Christ.

MOPS and MOMSnext: MOPS and MOMSnext begin meeting at Creekside on September 5th.  They will meet twice a month on Wednesday mornings from 9:30—11:30 a.m., and childcare is provided.  Come to Creekside on Wednesday, August 29th, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. to register and meet the MOPS leadership.  You can also sign up here.

9:00 a.m. Adult Bible Class:  A new study, Unlocking the Mysteries of Genesis, begins on Sunday, September 9th.  The study is from Institute for Creation Research, and the class will meet in the south modular, Room #700.

Women’s Fall Bible Studies:  Elizabeth George’s study on 1st Peter, Putting on a Gentle and Quiet Spirit, will begin on Tuesday, September 11th at 9:30 a.m.  You can sign up for the study, purchase the book ($10), and let us know if you need childcare here.  An evening study will meet at Creekside on Thursdays from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.  The start date and topic are still to be determined, but more details will be coming soon!

S T U D E N T   M I N I S T R Y

Wednesday Nights:  The youth will meet at Creekside from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on August 15th

Short Film Festival:  Ladies and Gents, middle through high school students, get ready for the WACKIEST, the CRAZIEST, the SHORTEST short film festival located right here at Creekside!  On Friday, August 24th, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., we will host a short film festival with videos submitted by YOU!  Get together with your friends, your coworkers, your second cousin twice removed, and create a masterpiece worthy of the highest recognition.  Each video must be 3–5 minutes long with a PG rating.  Anyone submitting a video MUST SIGN UP here.  To submit the video, share with Larry on Vimeo or bring it in on a USB drive by Wednesday, August 22nd. You do not have to submit a video to attend. 

C R E E K   K I D S   M I N I S T R Y

Families of Preschoolers through 6th Graders:  You are invited to kick-off the new school year at our Summer Blast on Sunday, August 12th, following the 2nd worship service.  Bring a picnic lunch for your family, lawn chairs or picnic blankets, clothes that can get wet, towels, and sunscreen. We will provide drinks and lots of FUN dry and wet games for kids and adults to play together!  (In case of rain, we will reschedule.)

4th–6th Graders will attend the worship services through the “worship in song” time beginning this Sunday, August 12th.  They will be dismissed midway through the service to meet their teachers in the foyer and go to their classroom for Bible class.

M I S S I O N S   A N D   O U T R E A C H

Desserts Needed:  A team from Creekside serves a meal to low-income and homeless people on the third Sunday of every month at Open Door Fellowship in Denver.  Dessert donations for Sunday, August 19th, would be much appreciated.  Please put the dessert in the church kitchen and label it “Open Door”. Contact missions@creeksidebible.com if you would like to help serve the meal.

Overtime – After School Volunteers Needed:  Overtime is a free afterschool program that will be hosted by Creekside Bible Church from 4:00–5:30 p.m. every Thursday at South Ridge Elementary.  The program starts on September 13th and will focus on academics, fitness, character, and fun.  If you would like to participate, please sign up here.  There will be a brief meeting after each service this Sunday for anyone who could not attend last Sunday’s meetings.

Christian World Outreach and our own Greg Yoder, CWO President, have several upcoming events including a 14er hike, a mini-golf tournament, and a golf tournament.  Please go to https://cwomissions.org/news-events/ to learn much more on how to become involved in these fun events.
