God is Immutable. What you may ask? God is Immutable. Putting it in simple terms, God is Unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. That is especially important to remember and cling to as we enter into “another change” with the Stay-at-Home order issued by Governor Polis this morning. If we are honest with ourselves, everywhere we look change is upon us. Some of it is for the good; some of it is a hard challenge for us to accept. But isn’t it good to know we worship a God who is NOT a moving target. Malachi 3:6 states this in very simple, clear terms, “Because I, Yahweh, do not change, you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.” Just as it was true in Old Testament times, the Lord’s unchanging character can still be relied upon today.
Over this last week, we have provided the church family with different opportunities to anchor their lives to God’s unchanging character. I want to encourage you to take advantage of each of those. They can be found either on our website or on our Facebook page. In closing, since nobody on this earth knows what changes we may face tomorrow, let’s be sure to pin our hopes on the One who is Unchanging…God is Immutable!
